The GDPR asks for more than a location

Where data is stored and where it goes is one question. The GDPR asks more. With a client file in a chat window, four remained unanswered.

• Only share what's neededAn AI assistant doesn't need the names, BSNs (Dutch citizen service numbers) and addresses in a client file to give a good answer. In a chat window it gets them anyway.
• Who may see whatA chat window doesn't know a firm's client file permissions. What one employee uploads falls outside every access arrangement.
• Being able to show what you didWhen a client or a supervisory authority asks what happened to a client file, you have to be able to show it.
• A person who checksSomeone has to check that the personal data is really gone before the material is used.

PrivaSearch is our answer to those four: personal data is replaced with pseudonyms, a colleague approves every document, the permissions per project stay in force, and every download, every reveal and every refused access is recorded in a log. How it works.

What we stand for

• Security is in the designWe're software developers. For us, privacy and security aren't a layer added around it later: a document is closed until someone releases it, and a refusal is logged.
• The GDPR is there for peoplePersonal data belongs to someone else. In practice we see it being handled too casually, while the GDPR is meant precisely to prevent that.
• Where the rules leave room, we choose the strict sideBetter an extra step than a grey area.
• Europe must keep its own choicesWe see that few organisations know what the American CLOUD Act can mean for data held by an American provider. For us, that was a reason to build this. It doesn't mean that the AI assistant you connect is European: that choice remains yours, and that's why we replace the personal data before any assistant is involved.

Who we are

PrivaSearch is a product of Nerdpower Solutions, a brand of Coding Agency. Coding Agency is a software company from Meppel that has been building custom software for organisations since 2010. PrivaSearch is made by the developers themselves, and we also use it for our own documents.
