Claude is the assistant; PrivaSearch is what sits in front of it. They do not compete: you need both to work with client files full of personal data. This page shows what changes when you no longer upload a client file but let PrivaSearch search it.
PrivaSearch
Your own client files, safely searchable from the AI assistant you already use.
€175 a month for the whole firm, up to 10 employees
Claude
A business subscription, in which you upload a client file as it is.

Side by side
What is said here about Claude comes from that party's own website. The sources and the reference date are at the bottom.
| Topic | Claude with PrivaSearch | Claude alone |
|---|---|---|
| What the AI model gets to see | Only passages in which names, addresses, numbers and other personal data have been replaced by pseudonyms, and only after a person has approved the privacy review. The link to the original stays in a vault and does not go along. | Everything you type and upload: the complete client file, with the personal data in it. |
| The GDPR | Designed for the GDPR: less data to the model, a mandatory review, a log of every action, plus the AI policy, the DPIA starter document and the entry for your record of processing activities. | With a business subscription a data processing agreement, and by default no training on your input. You have to be able to explain yourself why the model needed every name and every number. |
| Hosting | EU-sovereign hosting: storage and processing with a European provider. The assistant you connect may be American; it only receives the pseudonymised passages. | Anthropic is an American company and is subject to the CLOUD Act. Storage in the EU is not standard with Claude. |
| The models | The latest model from Claude, ChatGPT Business or Mistral Vibe. You choose the assistant and the model; when a new model comes out, you simply use it. | The latest model of Claude: the same model as with PrivaSearch. |
| What's included | Search in your client files, the privacy review, the AI policy, the DPIA, the AI training for every employee, the audit log and the connection with your assistant. | The assistant itself. No pseudonymisation, no privacy review, no AI policy, no DPIA and no AI training. |
| The price | €175 a month up to 10 employees, €350 up to 25. Per organisation, not per user; excl. VAT and the subscription to your assistant. | A subscription per user with Anthropic. You need that with PrivaSearch too. |
The subscription itself
With Claude Free, Pro and Max, the user chooses whether conversations may be used to improve the model. That choice affects the retention period: a deleted conversation disappears within thirty days, but data of users who allow training can remain in the training environment for up to five years, detached from the user. As a firm, you do not know what a colleague has set on a private account.
For Team, Enterprise and the API, Anthropic says conversations are not used for training unless the customer explicitly opts in. You do not have to request the data processing agreement separately: according to Anthropic it is automatically part of the commercial terms, with the standard contractual clauses included.
Storage is the point to watch. Anthropic writes that data is stored in the United States. According to the pricing page, Team has sign-in via SSO; audit logs and custom retention periods belong to Enterprise.
Team requires at least two members and can have up to 150 seats. A deleted conversation is gone from the history immediately and from the servers within thirty days. If the automated system flags a conversation as a violation of the usage policy, input and output are kept for up to two years. A connector only works once an owner of the organisation turns it on, after which every user connects themselves.
What none of these subscriptions changes: whoever uploads a client file sends every name and every number along, to a provider that stores it in the United States. With PrivaSearch you connect Claude to your client files instead of uploading them: the personal data has then already been replaced and checked by a colleague.

The latest models
PrivaSearch supplies the passages; the thinking is done by the model you choose in your assistant. A platform that hosts open models itself works with smaller models that arrive later. A platform that chooses for you does not always choose the most powerful one.
