Three differences that matter.

  1. If you upload a client file in Mistral Vibe, the whole document goes to Mistral, with every name and every number. Through PrivaSearch, Mistral Vibe only gets released passages with pseudonyms.
  2. The model is the same. You give up nothing on the analysis: the latest model of Mistral Vibe does the thinking, on text from which the personal data has already been removed.
  3. A business subscription arranges the data processing agreement with Mistral. It does not arrange the AI policy, the DPIA and the AI training for your employees; those are in PrivaSearch.

What the AI model gets to see Only passages in which names, addresses, numbers and other personal data have been replaced by pseudonyms, and only after a person has approved the privacy review. The subscription itself

What a subscription with Mistral arranges itself.

With Mistral Vibe, storage is the strong point: Mistral writes that data is hosted in the European Union by default. Depending on the feature, data can temporarily leave the EU, with sub-processors that Mistral names.

For training, the same pattern applies as with the other two. According to Mistral, individual users are not opted out by default, and uploaded documents count as input. Enterprise customers are opted out by default. With Team, the administrator can switch off training for the whole organisation; the page does not say what the default setting is. Check the switch yourself.

For the data processing agreement, Mistral refers to its legal terms; you can read there which subscriptions it applies to.

According to Mistral, Team costs $24.99 per user a month, excl. tax. An administrator can switch off a connector for the whole organisation, and only an administrator can set up a custom MCP connector. Mistral names no period for erasing a deleted conversation.

So a European provider answers the question of where data is stored. The other questions remain: whoever uploads a client file sends every name and every number along, even when the answer does not need it. With PrivaSearch you connect Mistral Vibe to your client files instead of uploading them: the personal data has then already been replaced and checked by a colleague.
