PrivaSearch or LegalPA?

LegalPA is a Dutch platform for lawyers and legal professionals that anonymises client files before the AI processes them. That is the same starting point as PrivaSearch. The difference: LegalPA is a legal work environment of its own with a price per lawyer; PrivaSearch works in the assistant you already use and costs one amount for the whole firm, also outside the legal profession.

PrivaSearch

Your own client files, safely searchable from the AI assistant you already use.

€175 a month for the whole firm, up to 10 employees

LegalPA

A legal AI environment for lawyers and legal professionals, with anonymisation beforehand.

€140 a month per lawyer

In short

Three differences that matter.

  1. Both replace personal data before a model sees it. LegalPA does that automatically; PrivaSearch then always has a person release the document, because automatic detection never finds everything.
  2. LegalPA is a legal environment of its own and does not say on its site which models run underneath. PrivaSearch works in Claude, ChatGPT Business or Mistral Vibe, with the latest model you choose yourself.
  3. LegalPA costs €140 a month for one lawyer. PrivaSearch costs €175 a month for the whole firm of up to ten employees.

Topic PrivaSearch LegalPA
What the AI model gets to see Only passages in which names, addresses, numbers and other personal data have been replaced by pseudonyms, and only after a person has approved the privacy review. The link to the original stays in a vault and does not go along. Client files in which, according to LegalPA, personal data is replaced automatically by fixed labels before the AI processes them. The site mentions no check by a person.
The GDPR Designed for the GDPR: less data to the model, a mandatory review, a log of every action, plus the AI policy, the DPIA starter document and the entry for your record of processing activities. LegalPA describes itself as adhering to the GDPR and refers to the AI guidelines of the bar association. An AI policy, a DPIA and the AI training for the whole firm are not included; training and onboarding for the product are.
Hosting EU-sovereign hosting: storage and processing with a European provider. The assistant you connect may be American; it only receives the pseudonymised passages. Processing in a closed environment within the EU. The site names no provider and no data centre.
The models The latest model from Claude, ChatGPT Business or Mistral Vibe. You choose the assistant and the model; when a new model comes out, you simply use it. The site names no models.
What's included Search in your client files, the privacy review, the AI policy, the DPIA, the AI training for every employee, the audit log and the connection with your assistant. Summarising and analysing client files, searching case law with source references and drafting legal documents.
The price €175 a month up to 10 employees, €350 up to 25. Per organisation, not per user; excl. VAT and the subscription to your assistant. €140 a month, excl. VAT, with an annual subscription for one lawyer; support staff are free. Several lawyers or a firm licence on request. Ten days free trial.

To be fair

Where LegalPA is stronger.

  • Made for the legal profession: searching case law and drafting legal documents.
  • Anonymising without waiting time: there is no review per document.
  • A ten-day trial, without a demo beforehand.
  • Support staff take part for free.

And the other way round

When PrivaSearch is the better fit.

  • Your firm has more than one lawyer or legal professional: the price adds up per person there.
  • You want a person to check a document before a model sees it.
  • You want the latest model of the assistant you choose yourself.
  • You are not a legal firm: an accountant, a healthcare practice or an HR department.

What's in PrivaSearch

Seven components, one subscription.

No separate packages and no extra charge per component. See the pricing.

  1. Search in your own client files Ask questions about your documents, with a reference to the source for every answer.
  2. Pseudonymise before the model Personal data is detected and replaced before any text goes to an AI model.
  3. Mandatory privacy review Nothing is searchable until a person has checked and released the document.
  4. AI policy, DPIA and record of processing activities Starter documents based on your own setup, for your lawyer or DPO to review.
  5. AI training for every employee The AI literacy from the AI Act, with an overview per person.
  6. Audit log and access management Every action recorded, with roles per project and mandatory two-step verification.
  7. Connection with your AI assistant Search from your assistant through MCP, within the same permissions and project boundaries.

The latest models

You work with the best model there is.

PrivaSearch supplies the passages; the thinking is done by the model you choose in your assistant. A platform that hosts open models itself works with smaller models that arrive later. A platform that chooses for you does not always choose the most powerful one.
